Author Notes
Phebe Hanson received a bachelor's degree from Augsburg College. She taught English and creative writing for more than 30 years, from a one-room country school in Echo, Minnesota to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, from which she retired after 15 years as an associate professor. She founded and taught at the Loft literary center. Her first collection of poetry, Sacred Hearts, was published in 1985. Her second collection of poetry, Why Still Dance: 75 Years - 75 Poems, was published in 2003. When she was in her 50s, Hanson and Joan Murphy Pride traveled in Europe and wrote a joint memoir entitled Not So Fast: A Grand Tour of Europe at a Mid-Life Pace. She died on December 16, 2016 at the age of 88.
