Booklist Review

In this affirming alphabet book, each letter is paired with an adjective: C is for Creative, N is for Natural, Z is for Zany. Also included are short paragraphs unpacking each trait, along with questions to prompt conversation: What makes you feel grateful? Each concept is brightly illustrated, featuring children engaged in activities or acts of kindness. Beyond the classic alphabet trappings, this is a book that celebrates every kind of child, encouraging expression, self-esteem, and community. Inclusion and diversity are clearly a priority as well, with people of all races, genders, ages, and abilities being depicted. And, in case you were wondering, X is for Xenial. --Ronny Khuri Copyright 2019 Booklist
