Summary:
Family kind of guy: Bliss Cawthorne had once pictured herself as Mason Lafferty's wife. That is, until the wealthy rancher broke her heart and married another woman. Now, thirteen years later, Bliss is back in town and refuses to allow Mason to woo his way into her heart again. But can she resist her old flame's charm the second time around? Years ago Mason was told that he wasn't good enough for his boss's daughter. So, reluctantly, he had let Bliss go--for love's sake. But he wouldn't make the same mistake now that she was home...

Family kind of gal: Tiffany Santini had no need for a man. Least of all her stubborn, powerful brother-in-law, J.D., who showed up on her doorstep declaring that the single mother needn't raise her kids all alone. Feisty, independent Tiffany knew the disturbingly attractive lawyer thought he had a right as her children's uncle to invite himself into her home--and hoped Tiffany's hospitality would extend into her bedroom. Well, she had plans to send J.D. packing. Tiffany thought she did, anyway. Until he showered her kids with the fatherly attention they'd missed and favored her with seductive kisses that wreaked havoc with her heart...

Family kind of wedding: Katie Kinkaid knows what comes of following your heart; she did that once and ended up pregnant and unwed. So a mysterious bachelor--an undeniably attractive one--moving in next door isn't a complication she needs. Still, Luke Gates is the most intriguing man she's met in years. Katie has no time to figure out Luke's secrets, though. Her main priority is raising her rambunctious ten-year-old son. But the more Katie crosses paths with the six-foot Texan, the more smitten she is. And although Luke insists he isn't husband or father material, Katie can't help dreaming of the man next door...

Summary

Dear Reader,

It's always wonderful to return to a favorite place. That's how I feel about Bittersweet, Oregon, the fictional setting for my 1990s trilogy, Forever Family, now collected here in one volume with a new title-- Envious ! I'm delighted to revisit Bittersweet in the company of Bliss, Katie, and Tiffany--three women who've just discovered they are half-sisters . . .

Bliss Cawthorne is John Cawthorne's only legitimate daughter, but her father's wealth has complicated matters. Mason Lafferty believed he wasn't good enough for the boss's daughter and broke Bliss's heart after saving her life. Yet now he's back in Bittersweet, determined to make her trust him again.

Tiffany Santini is widowed and struggling to raise two children after a car accident. That doesn't mean she needs interference from her powerful brother-in-law. And Katie Kincaid is too busy wrangling her rambunctious son to get involved with the enigmatic cowboy next door. Then there's the mystery at the heart of Bittersweet--the recent disappearance of an elderly local, Isaac Wells, who has vanished without trace, casting a dark cloud over all their lives . . .

Join me in Bittersweet as these three very different, independent women try to escape the shadows of their pasts . . .
