Lego enthusiasts will welcome this remarkable chronological accounting by Wilkinson (Great Design) of the entire "Lego Architecture" series of buildable sets. In all there are 22 models, starting with the first set, of Willis Tower in Chicago, released in 2008, through Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from 2014. Ten pages are devoted to each kit, including model details, an exploded view of the construction, information about the original building (featuring a brief profile of the architect), and plenty of full-color photographs. The production values of this entertaining guide are as sleek and stylish as the collection it covers. The author does a fine job of capturing the inspiration, creativity, and passion of the model designers while unpacking some of the process and diligent effort required to produce these lovely replicas, which evoke the vision and grandeur of these familiar architectural treasures but are not designed to exact scale. With new models on the horizon-presumably for at least as long as their popularity continues-it seems a matter of time before a companion volume is published. What's next in the series? Seattle Public Library? Transamerica Pyramid? What fun!
