USA Today bestselling author Laura Lee Guhrke is back with the latest in her dazzling An American Heiress in London series, in which a reformed rogue finds all his honorable resolutions tested by the only woman who ever broke his heart . . .
After spending his youth as one of the wildest rakes in the ton, Lord Denys Somerton has devoted the past six years to putting his past behind him. He is determined to fulfill his duties, find a suitable wife, and start a family, but that plan changes when Lola Valentine--the red-haired temptress from his past--returns to London, sparking the same irresistible desires that almost ruined his life once before.
Lola is a woman with no romantic illusions. She knew love would never be enough for a British lord and an American girl from the wrong side of the tracks. For Denys's sake, she walked away from him and the glittering life he offered. But when an unexpected inheritance brings her back to London, Lola discovers the passion between them is as hot as ever. Can they vanquish it, or will it burn out of control again and destroy them both

Kirkus Review

The other half of the Imperial is owned by the Earl Conyers, but the Earls business affairs are managed by his son, Denys, Lord Somerton, Lolas former lover. Lola refuses his offer to buy her out of the Imperial. Shes hoping this inheritance will give her the chance shes been waiting for to stop doing sexy music hall performances and begin a career as a serious actress. Meanwhile, Denys is now a sober businessman. Hes very different from the wild youth who once hung around Lolas dressing rooms in London and Paris, when Lola had visited upon Denys a sort of insanitya passion beyond all reason. His family, especially, is glad that Denys is taking his responsibilities as the heir to an earldom seriously and courting an eligible young lady. But Lolas arrival turns Denys life upside down again. After their initial battles, Denys and Lola achieve a tentative peace and begin to look to the future of the Imperial Theater. But their ongoing attraction makes it hard to keep their conversations strictly about business. The fourth installment in Guhrke's An American Heiress in London series (Catch a Falling Heiress, 2015, etc.) has a strong plot that centers on more than just romance. The characters' back stories are gradually revealed as the novel progresses, drawing the reader along. Lola and Denys have hurt each other terribly, and their reconciliation has all the fireworks a reader could wish for. A spellbinding, sizzling romance. Copyright Kirkus Reviews, used with permission.
Booklist Review
*Starred Review* It will never work out! Six years ago, Lola Valentine was Denys Conyers' mistress. Now she suddenly turns up in London with some wild idea that she's going to be his business partner. Although it is true that Lola's old friend Henry Latham did leave her a 50 percent share in ownership of the Imperial Music Hall, Denys is completely convinced that, given their past history, the two of them simply can't work together. His solution is to buy Lola out. What Denys doesn't understand, however, is that for Lola, it isn't about money. Lola intends on using her share in the Imperial as a way of finally realizing her dream of becoming a dramatic actress. So if Denys thinks he can simply write a check and make her go away, well, he is definitely in for a surprise. Starring a brilliantly original heroine, graced with a cast of engaging secondary characters, written with an elegant flair, and richly infused with plenty of smoldering sensuality and scintillating wit, the latest in Guhrke's An American Heiress in London series (Catch a Falling Heiress, 2015) is a complete tour de force.--Charles, John Copyright 2016 Booklist
