Author Notes

Frank Asch (1946-2022) was a graduate of Cooper Union, and wrote and illustrated more than eighty children's books, among them the bestselling classics featuring Moonbear and Baby Bear, Russian National Bestseller Award recipient Here Comes the Cat! , and Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Golden Award winner Like a Windy Day . Mr. Asch lived in Hawaii with his family.

Horn Book Review

When Little Bird tells Moonbear about the sunrise, Moonbear is determined to see it. He tries setting an alarm, but he sleeps right through it. Buying more alarm clocks doesn't help either. Finally, Little Bird realizes Moonbear has to go to bed earlier in order to see the sunrise. Asch's signature color-saturated, clean-lined illustrations complete this sleepy-sweet book.
