Summary

Amelia Bedelia has big plans for her summer, until her mom signs her up for sleep-away camp. The all-girls camp is old-fashioned and can't compete with the high-tech computer camp across the lake, where Amelia Bedelia's cousin Jason is spending his summer. Author Notes

Children's book author Herman Parish is the nephew of Peggy Parish, the creator of the beloved Amelia Bedelia series. After his aunt died in 1988, he decided to continue Amelia's adventures himself and has since published more than a dozen stories featuring the comical housekeeper. Parish is a popular speaker in libraries and schools throughout the United States.

Amelia Bedelia is bummed to be spending the summer at camp instead of lazing at home. But she befriends her cabin-mates, learns how to build a fire, stargazes, and surprises herself by having fun. Her literal (mis)interpretations of words often feel forced, though graduates of the easy readers should find this latest chapter-book entry appealing.
