Summary
Summary
Erin McCarthy stunned audiences with her passionate New Adult romance, True . Now she returns with a seductive and touching tale of finding love in all the wrong places...
Jessica Sweet thought going away to college would finally free her from her parents' constant judgments, but if anything, it's made her realize she can't go home and be a hypocrite anymore. Tired of dodging their questions, she stays at school over the summer and lands in an unexpected crash pad: Riley Mann's house.
Sarcastic and cocky, Riley is also sexy personified with tattoos and biceps earned from working in construction all day. He seems like the completely wrong guy for Jessica, but Riley hides a sensitive side and a family burden behind his self-assured grin. As Jessica helps him get his house in order for a custody hearing, they begin to fall for each other, and she is forced to question what she's hiding herself.
But when it comes down to showing Riley how she truly feels, Jessica's fear of rejection may just ruin the best thing--the best guy--to ever happen to her...

Booklist Review
Jessica Sweet couldn't wait to leave for college and get away from her strict parents she was so over being their Little Miss Perfect chastity queen. She has such a great freshman year, partying and sleeping around, that she realizes there is no way she can go home for the summer and play Sunday-school teacher again. When she decides to spend the summer in the city, she needs a place to crash and opts to shack up with Riley, a hot roofer from the wrong side of town. Jessica and Riley have a love-hate relationship that quickly turns to lust-lust. This second title in McCarthy's True Believers series is a bit overloaded with cliches (preacher's daughter slums with working-class guy), but it hits all the right sexy notes. It's also full of current pop-culture references and peppered with hip slang. A solid addition to new adult collections.--Vnuk, Rebecca Copyright 2014 Booklist
Library Journal Review
College student Jessica Sweet doesn't return home to the rigid Christian household where she never quite measures up, leading her parents to believe she is building houses for the needy this summer. There is only one problem: she has nowhere to stay. Fortunately, friend Tyler offers up his house for the week, but that means she would be sharing the space with Riley Mann, Tyler's older, sexier, and cockier brother, while Tyler is away with their younger siblings. The week gets off to a rocky start, with plenty of snarky banter, until Riley finally takes it to the next level. Jessica's sex drive demands more from Riley than what he is willing to give, but he is about to teach her that slowly exploring each other's bodies and hearts is even more satisfying and may lead to a passion unlike anything either of them has ever experienced. Verdict Known for steamy contemporary and paranormal romance, McCarthy has written a second foray into new adult territory (following True) that expertly depicts the ubiquitous time of life when independence and self-discovery meet an uncertain future, which is as equally exciting as it is terrifying. This riveting addition to the rising new adult category will gratify the genre's intended audience, "for reals," who will find themselves craving a Riley Mann of their own.-Kara Kohn, Plainfield P.L., IL (c) Copyright 2013.
