DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE: Every book is conceived and written to address milestones in a baby's life, from fine motor skills to shape recognition and emotional awareness.
CUTE CHARACTERS: Evoking Richard Scarry's characters, but for much younger readers, these adorable characters--from an artistic llama to an active monkey and a gardener octopus--teach toddler concepts while promoting socialization and community.
TEACHES COLOR AND SO MUCH MORE: The fun seek-and-find game of looking for colored objects in each tabbed section will delight and amuse children. This book also gives kids practice in fine motor skills and storytelling while introducing them to the schedule of a typical day at camp, including snack time, crafts, and games.
QUIET AND ACTIVE THINGS TO DO: The different characters in this book enjoy doing very different activities, which shows kids that there are many ways of having fun.
BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED FOR DISCERNING EYES: Bright, peppy colors and patterns make this series of books attractive for both babies and adults!
Perfect for: Baby shower or new baby gift for new parents or expanding families Grandparents, uncles, aunts, and siblings to share with baby Teachers and educators at daycare and early childhood centers Anyone looking for an interactive children's book for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers Readers who enjoy playful Dr. Seuss and Eric Carle books, Sandra Boynton board books, and other popular lift-the-flap board books for toddlers

School Library Journal Review
Toddler-PreS--With splashed dots of colors on tabs that run across the top of the book and then down the right side of it, and featuring inviting hosts such as a pink octopus, blue narwhal, orange-ish giraffe, teal (and bespectacled) elephant, red panda, yellow llama, and purple monkey, this vibrant board book will find its way into the hands of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers curious about the concept of camp. Slater takes on all topics with confidence, with colorful items to point out that match the coded dots on the tabs, scenes of cooperation and friendship, names of animals (no one's quibbling about scale here, or geographic contradictions), and an inclusive narrative voice that keeps the pages turning. Who wouldn't want to just start the book over? VERDICT A great use of the format, concept, and matching skills to busy hands and curious minds. Perfection.--Kimberly Olson Fakih
Kirkus Review
At Color Camp, a group of animals helps readers explore eight different hues. Paisley the octopus looks for green things on a nature walk, Riley the narwhal goes for a swim in the blue lake, and Layla the llama makes pink bracelets. Each page focuses on a different color, and a corresponding tab encourages readers to flip to the page of their choice. The text speaks directly to little ones with phrases like, "Use your finger to touch all the things you see that are brown." The brightly colored, big-eyed animals participate in related activities on each page. There are plenty of objects in the focal color to identify as well as contrasting colors that allow readers to practice discerning these differences. The tabbed pages provide fine motor practice for growing hands and allow little ones to decide how to read the book. Each page stands on its own, and though the first and last have intro statements, they can be read in any order. The final page shows off tie-dye swirls as the friends make T-shirts. It's all sweet enough, but bookshelves are crowded with concept titles featuring colors, and while this one certainly fits in, there is little here that truly makes it stand out. (This book was reviewed digitally.) Hits the mark, but so do dozens of other similar titles. (Board book. 1-3) Copyright (c) Kirkus Reviews, used with permission.
