Summary:

A bicyclist is kidnapped from the Tour de France by mysterious gangsters; his grandmother travels to the city of Belleville (which has a sardonic version of the Statue of Liberty in its harbor), where she tracks him down with the help of a musical trio gone to seed, the Belleville Triplets.

Summary

Upon discovering her grandson's passion for cycling, a devoted French grandmother helps him pursue his career. As he races the Tour de France he mysteriously disappears and his Grandmother, along with the help of the Triplets of Bellville - three aging Vaudevillians - track him down to the mob, where he is held prisoner. Their daring escape and cunning lead to the obliteration of the gangsters.

Summary

When some of the Tour de France racers are kidnapped and sent to the surreal town of Belleville to be riders for a gambling operation, one boy's grandmother and his dog set out to save them. The Triplets of Belleville come to the rescue of all.

Raised by his bespectacled grandmother, a lonely young lad becomes so taken with his bicycle that his perceptive granny grooms him for the Tour de France. Mysterious kidnappers thwart his attempt, though, spiriting him off to a teeming metropolis, with grandma and her dog in hot pursuit.
