We first met Anthony Dante in Fair Play (2004). He runs Dante's, the restaurant that he and his brother own. He is an excellent, if temperamental, chef, and since his wife died, his life is devoted to his extended family and his restaurant. His rut is well and truly worn until Vivi Robitaille arrives in Brooklyn from France and opens a little bistro right across the street. They try to get along but are equally high-strung and competitive. Vivi shakes up Anthony's world, and just as he convinces himself to get out of his rut and embark on a relationship, she backs out. Although witnessing Vivi and Anthony argue is a treat, it's the revelation of deeper emotions that makes this another victory for Martin.--Hatton, Maria Copyright 2007 Booklist
