Publisher's Weekly Review
Lois Lenski's The Easter Rabbit's Parade, originally published in 1936, returns to print in hardcover. Ann Eliza takes care of her farmyard animals all year round, so the animals decide to make Easter very special for her. With some help from the boisterous, bumbling and occasionally rude Easter Bunny, the animals pull together a lovely celebration. The vintage illustrations are particularly pleasing. Horn Book Review
Ann Eliza takes good care of her farm animals; at Easter, they repay the favor with a parade, an egg-filled basket, and gifts (all accomplished despite the goat's pessimism and the rabbit's egotism). The illustrations, originally in brown, orange, and blue, have been tastefully converted to full color, but it's the overlong text that dominates. Contemporary readers may lose patience with this rambling story. (c) Copyright 2010. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
