School Library Journal Review
Gr 5-9Three series titles that give a full picture of the geography, history, government, economy, people, religion, food, and other facets of their respective countries. Although they have the same chapter titles, the details presented are very different according to the unique characteristics of each country. All three books describe changes in life style from traditional times to our information age. Organization is clear and user friendly. Fine-quality, full-color photographs and reproductions draw readers in and help to hold their interest. Captions, maps, a flag, index, bibliography, glossary, a recipe, and quick notes make these selections welcome additions for report writers. They provide more detail than Norway...in Pictures (1990), Taiwan...in Pictures (1991), and Belgium...in Pictures (1991, all Lerner).Sandra L.
