Author Notes

Jon Stone was the first head writer for Sesame Street , and was one of the show's principal directors and producers for more than 24 years. He died in 1997.

Horn Book Review

Grover (from ""Sesame Street"") beseeches the reader not to turn the page because ""there is a Monster at the end of this book."" When persuasion doesn't work, he ties knots, nails up boards, and even builds a brick wall, but to no avail. The interactivity of text and art is perfectly pitched to young children, and the end is funny and satisfying+even if one has already guessed the Monster's identity. (c) Copyright 2010.
