This meandering but entertaining documentary takes the "spoonful of sugar" approach to serious issues, using the shenanigans of actor Woody Harrelson and his goofy entourage on a bike and lecture tour of the West Coast to raise awareness about sustainable living. Along the way, they photo-op at unwelcoming logging companies, meet various interesting characters (including now-deceased author Ken Kesey, who shows off the original "Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" bus that inspired Harrelson's "bio-fueled" one), and celebrate Earth Day. Some good points about consumer responsibility are made along the way, even when they come in the form of a recovering junk food addict preaching about organic foods to some small-town kids who are on a methamphetamine bender. This movie isn't likely to change the mind of anyone who thinks environmentalism is just for hippies, given all the tie-dye on display and the Lenny Kravitz/Dave Matthews soundtrack. Also, the focus on a full yoga-doing, hemp-wearing, raw food-eating lifestyle could be a little intimidating to some.
