Casey Slater can't believe her bad luck. It's the summer before seventh grade and, while her friends will be hanging out at the local pool, Casey is in a remote country town where her parents are restoring an old, creaky, creepy house.

Worst of all, everyone else in town thinks the old house is haunted. And soon Casey thinks so too - objects fly across the room on their own, the hallway floorboards creak when everyone is in bed, mysterious writing shows up in the dust on the mirror - and it seems like the ghost doesn't want them there. Casey thought she'd be dying of boredom, but now she's scared to death!

Author Notes

Mimi McCoy is a pseudonym under which children's author, Kiki Thorpe, writes the Candy Apple, and Poison Apple series.

Kiki was born in Agaña, Guam and grew up in Boise, Idaho. She holds a BA from Brown University and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Arizona.

She is a former children's book editor, and is now able to write full time. She has written or adapted over fifty books for children. Her works include: Ah-Choo!, A Comfy Cozy Thanksgiving, and Bear in the Big Blue House. She authors The Never Girls series, and has written some of the Disney Fairies chapter books series including: The Trouble with Tink, Tink North of Never Land, and Tink in a Fairy Fix.
