Author Notes
Author Joan Holub graduated from college in Texas with a fine arts degree. She illustrated her first published children's book in 1992 and began illustrating full time, shortly thereafter. She sold her first two manuscripts in 1996 and has since become a full time author. She has written and/or illustrated over 130 children's books, including the Goddess Girls and Heroes in Training Series. Her title Mighty Dads, illustrated by James Dean, made the New York Times bestseller list in 2014.

PreS-Gr 2-Ava and ginormous Itty Bitty Kitty are off to visit the firehouse. Itty Bitty is a feline on the Clifford scale and is less than purr-fectly behaved. His nose for trouble leads them on a hilarious adventure where they make new friends and learn how to stay safe if there is a real fire. Colorful digital illustrations add to the excitement. This installment uses basic language, word repetition, and humorous story lines. It's perfect for sharing with a child and designed to encourage a love of reading. Horn Book Review
Ava and her huge purple kitty, Itty Bitty, check out the fire station's open house in their first easy reader. Unfortunately, Itty Bitty chases the firehouse dog, sets off an alarm, and gets stuck partway down the fireman's pole. The text is somewhat choppy, and softly contoured figures often appear frozen mid-pose. Still, it's a jovial outing with fire-safety lessons built in. (c) Copyright 2017.
