Library Journal Review
Starred Review. Beautiful Kyla Stroud's Marine husband, Richard, is tragically killed in a terrorist attack while guarding the American embassy in Cairo, Egypt. She learns of his death while she is in the hospital recovering from the birth of their child, Aaron. Meanwhile, Richard's best friend, Trevor Rule, was severely injured in the same blast. Having been given Kyla's love letters to Richard, Trevor falls in love with her after reading the passionate words over and over during his recuperation. When he is released from the hospital, Trevor heads for Texas in search of Kyla, who only knows of him as Smooch, lady killer par excellence. Thus the stage is set for romance, misunderstanding, and heartbreak. Jack Garrett does an excellent job with all the voices, male and female. He really gets into the action and adds a great deal to this rather weak story. Purchase for adult audio collections and Brown fans.--Nancy Reed, McCracken Cty. P.L., Paducah, KY (c) Copyright 2010.
