School Library Journal Review
Gr 2-4-Frannie, a precocious young girl, loves to work and has business cards and resumes, which she hands out at every opportunity. Her biggest dream is to become "professional," and even has a professional name for herself: Frankly. Frannie prefers to use grown-up words and phrases, though sometimes she gets them mixed up or twisted around. When she accompanies her parents on an important business trip to Orlando, she is more excited about helping out at a business conference than she is about visiting a theme park called "Princess Land." Unfortunately, Frannie's eagerness to help out and be professional tends to get her into hot water constantly. Luckily, her imagination and creativity manages to save the day-more than once! A. J. Stern's wonderful story (Grosset & Dunlap, 2011) is vibrantly narrated by Michele O. Medlin who nails the voice of this bold, bright child! Listeners will be captivated as they hear Frannie tell her hilarious story. A great addition to school and public library collections.-Jenny Ventling, Dayton Metro Library, OH (c) Copyright 2012.
