Summary
In the picturesque town of Serendipity, New York, three siblings have grown up in the shadow of their proud and respected police chief father. But what do love, fate, and fortune have in store for the next generation of Serendipity's finest?
Tired of being the easygoing daughter, always ignored in favor of her high-maintenance sister, and no longer interested in being her fiancé's trophy wife, Nicole Farnsworth calls off her wedding. All she wants is to be herself. And where better to find her destiny than Serendipity? The place where she met the one man who made her heart beat faster, and gave her the courage to reinvent her life--even if he doesn't know it.
Officer Sam Marsden calls Serendipity home and he loves it there--even though his childhood sweetheart was stolen by his best friend. After such heartbreak, Sam fears he can't trust his instincts when it comes to love. Yet he's so tempted by Nicole, a woman he met only briefly but who has starred in his dreams ever since. For Nicole and Sam, opening their hearts one more time could change their lives forever. But who'll be the first to take that chance?

Publisher's Weekly Review
Philips returns to fictional Serendipity, N.Y., for another pleasant encounter with people who say they aren't looking for permanent relationships, but change their minds when the perfect match appears. Nicole Farnsworth has had enough of being "a pawn" for her wealthy parents in N.Y.C. and wants to make a fresh start in Serendipity. Det. Sam Marsden is a local cop who has everything except the woman of his dreams. Nicole is pursued by her ex-fiance and threatened by shady figures; Sam has been burnt by an unfaithful lover and now questions his romantic judgment. They renew their acquaintance from Perfect Fling and settle into the pattern that Philips's readers know and love: the lovers learn to trust again, forge a healthy relationship, and regain their self-esteem while being subjected to some mild menace. Characters lack subtlety, and the formulaic story is weighed down by dull writing and forced tension, but the result is an accessible and congenial vacation read. Library Journal Review
After their unlikely chance meeting-arresting her after assuming she was her twin sister-Sam Marsden is shocked when Nicole Farnsworth decides Serendipity, NY, is the place where she wants to start over. Nicole hopes to leave life in New York City behind along with all that it entails, including her less than loving parents, her ex-fiance, and the questionable business practices of her father's partner. Despite the crazy situation that brought her to Serendipity the first time, Nicole realizes it feels like home-but is she ready to love again? This novel about second chances can stand alone if listeners have yet to experience the first two in the series (Perfect Fit; Perfect Fling). Narrator David Barker conveys the characters' emotions without overdoing it.
