The Boxcar Children have been chosen to play in an exciting new game show! A camera crew is following the Aldens around the city of Philadelphia as they compete with another brother-and-sister team in a search for clues. The search isn't easy, though, especially when someone has tampered with the Aldens' map and stolen one of Benny's treasures! Why is their team being sabotaged?

Author Notes

Gertrude Chandler Warner grew up in Putnam, Connecticut. She wrote The Boxcar Children because she had always dreamed about what it would be like to live in a caboose or a freight car--just as the Aldens do. When readers asked for more adventures, Warner wrote more books--a total of nineteen in all. After her death, other authors have continued to write stories about Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny Alden, and today The Boxcar Children® series has more than one hundred books.

Created by Gertrude Chandler Warner. The four Alden children solve two new mysteries. In Amazing, they participate in a television show competing against another family to find clues around historic Philadelphia. In Pumpkin, they discover who is haunting a local farm. As with the other series entries, the characterization is weak and plots are thin. The only appeal is familiarity.
