School Library Journal Review
K-Gr 2-These simple books define the title word; provide examples of the trait; and tell how to practice it at home, in school, and in the community. Full-page color photos depict children of various ethnicities, and some have disabilities. One spread in each title is devoted to a famous person-for example, Olympic medalist Wilma Rudolph in Sportsmanship. Words that may be new to readers are defined on the bottom of the page, and a few others are found in a short glossary. Each book includes a hands-on activity. Some students might read these titles on their own, but it is more likely that counselors and teachers will use them as a way to promote the characteristics.-Sandra Welzenbach, Villarreal Elementary School, San Antonio, TX (c) Copyright 2010.
