Gr 9 Up-Will and his friends barely survived the attacks by the Knights of Charlemagne, the prep school students who are cooperating with the alien race known as the Other Team. As he recovers from those events and the loss of his family, Will holds out hope that his father is alive. He knows the Paladin Prophecy involves him and possibly all of his roommates, but he is not sure how to harness their powers and how to fight the war he knows is coming. The world depends on Will and his friends to fight those who would join with the Other Team to gain power. When the group is betrayed and his cooperation with the enemy will save his friends, Will knows the most important goal may be to stay alive. Nick Chamian provides Will with the perfect voice of a teenage champion and gives unique personalities to each member of the group. Chamian captures the suspense and surprise of each moment and draws the listener into the action. The superpowers of Will's roommates make for interesting action sequences. Frost's cliff-hanger ending and shocking twists set up the next installment perfectly.
