School Library Journal Review
PreS- K-With just one sentence per page and large colorful photographs, this simple series about the USDA's MyPlate program could be shared in a small preschool setting. Five of the titles provide the most basic information about one food group each-complete with examples, the associated benefits, and any risks to consider, such as eating too much fat-while the final volume delivers a MyPlate program overview. Notes to parents and teachers provide suggestions for introducing the books and extension activities. A well balanced offering for the youngest audience. (c) Copyright 2012. Horn Book Review
Inspired by the U.S. government's MyPlate nutrition guide, Fruits and Vegetables follow exactly the same text structure, providing explanations, examples, and health benefits of each food group; MyPlate describes all five food groups, giving examples of foods in each. Stock photos adequately support the text. Glos., ind. [This is the one the review should bein.] (c) Copyright 2012. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
