Summary
A heartwarming winter story perfect for fans of classics like The Snowy Day, The Mitten, The Snowman, and The Giving Tree.
Drift was a very plain snowman. Every day he dreamed of wearing a stylish hat, a scarf, and mittens just like the other snowmen--and, most of all, having a pointy orange carrot nose.
Then, he knew, he would finally be perfect--and he would finally belong.
Until one special, snowy day, Drift's deepest dreams come true.
But when dark clouds roll in and a terrible blizzard begins to blow, can Drift face giving up what he loves most and become the most perfect snowman of all
From celebrated cartoonist Chris Britt, The Most Perfect Snowman is a touching story about kindness, friendship, and the importance of giving.

School Library Journal Review
PreS-Gr 1-Drift is a snowman who was made early in the winter, with stick arms and five rocks to form his face. He envies other snowmen adorned with hats, scarves, mittens, and carrot noses. He is scorned and ridiculed by well-dressed snowmen who participate in group activities. Sadly, he is left to solitary pursuits. One day, children give him a hat, mittens, scarf, and a carrot nose, and Drift happily plays with them. But he later discovers that he has lost his hat and mittens. When a bunny creeps by at the onset of a snowstorm, Drift demonstrates his warm heart as he bundles the creature in his scarf and feeds him his carrot nose. Distinctive illustrations rendered in watercolor, acrylic, and Tombow pencil depict emotions, movement, and lots of engaging details. The fantastical story will generate thoughts and conversations about the value of appearance, group engagement, empathy, and generosity. VERDICT A perfect addition to seasonal picture book collections.-Laura Scott, Farmington Community Library, MI © Copyright 2016. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. Publisher's Weekly Review
"Built fast and then forgotten," Drift the snowman doesn't have stylish accessories or a carrot nose, and his fellow snowmen don't let him forget it. After children share their mittens, hat, and a spare carrot with Drift, he looks every bit the "perfect snowman," but his own generosity wins out when he rescues a lost rabbit during a storm. Editorial cartoonist Britt never overplays the emotional moments that make this story so moving and memorable. His soft, mixed-media images and direct writing quietly reveal how easy it is to snub people for what they lack, and that it's just as easy to reach out and fill that very same need. Ages 4-8. Booklist Review
Drift, a very plain snowman, dreams of stylish accessories and, especially, a carrot nose, as the other snowmen jeer at him and exclude him from their fun. One day, lonely Drift meets three children who give him mittens, a hat, a scarf, and a carrot. They play together all afternoon. That night brings a blizzard and a wind that blows away his new hat and mittens. While searching for them, Drift finds a frightened, cold bunny. Wrapping his new friend in his scarf and offering his carrot for nibbling, Drift becomes the most perfect snowman of all. The simply written story is both imaginative and appealing. An editorial cartoonist, Britt uses watercolor, acrylic, and pencil to create expressive characters and stylized, minimalist settings that create the feel of a snowy day. Though initially Drift may remind readers of a certain red-nosed reindeer who was shunned by his peers, his story turns away from the most predictable ending toward one that's more satisfying in every way. Britt's debut picture book offers a good, wintry read-aloud experience.--Phelan, Carolyn Copyright 2016 Booklist
