Summary
Summary
An illustrated, full-color celebration of the world's cuddliest coworkers!
Dogs get a lot of attention for performing tasks such as sniffing out cancer, helping hospital patients recover, and serving in our military. But cats have not been sitting idly by.
Around the world, there are cats earning their keep. Some are mousers, like Princess, a black cat who works at Mill Ridge Farm's stables. Some are circus performers, like Tuna and her furry friends in The Amazing Acro-Cats. And some are even politicians, like Mayor Stubbs, an orange tabby who holds office in Talkeetna, Alaska.
Others provide therapy and comfort as diabetic alert cats and service cats for veterans and children. And in the case of those cats who are originally brought on for their mousing skills, it often doesn't take long for their job duties to expand as their talents are discovered.
Each one of Cats on the Job 's stories of adorable feline coworkers is paired with heartwarming color photographs, making this the perfect book for cat lovers of all ages.

Library Journal Review
Rogak (One Big Happy Family: Heartwarming Stories of Animals Caring for One Another; Dogs of Courage) introduces readers to hard-working cats around the world. As in -Oswell Blakeston's 1963 Working Cats and the pictorial book of the same name by Terry deRoy Gruber, working cats of all stripes are featured. Some jobs highlighted may be a bit tongue-in-cheek, such as furniture tester and exercise trainer, while others, such as a feline who is able to detect changes in blood sugar for a diabetic companion and cats providing palliative care in hospice environments, are more serious. Cats from around the world are featured, and each vignette is accompanied by a picture of the working cat. Some famous cats, such as Baker & Taylor's eponymously named duo of Scottish Folds and the more recent Internet sensation Grumpy Cat, are featured. VERDICT Going beyond the traditional roles of cats as mousers, this fun and lighthearted book would make a great addition to any cat lover's library.-Diana Hartle, Univ. of Georgia Science Lib., Athens © Copyright 2015.
