Author Notes

Leopoldo Gout, author of Genius , is a writer, artist, and filmmaker who hails from Mexico. After studying in London, Cout produced the award-winning film Days of Grace , which A.O. Scott of the New York Times called "potent and vigorous." He is the executive producer of the sci-fi drama Zoo on CBS and has partnered with James Patterson Entertainment to produce Maximum Ride . Leopoldo Gout resides in New York City with his wife and two children.

Megalomaniac Kiran's Shiva virus, designed to stop the virtual world, is six days from launch, and Tunde, Rex, Cai, and their Lodge followers are on the case. Unfortunately, Shiva is not one but four different viruses; and although the Lodge tracks Kiran from Beijing to Mexico City to Arizona to a Patagonian bunker, Shiva erupts just as they arrive. Can they short-circuit the digital demon created by one twisted yet talented man? Gout's trilogy-closing tale drops readers into nonstop action that needs the background of The Game (2017) and The Con (2018). Cai, Tunde, and Rex take turns as narrators, their sections decorated in ways that reflect their characters: Cai's with minimal highlighted and bolded text; Tunde's engineering mind on full display with machinery and doodled art; while Rex's pages feature network nodes with occasional keywords. The artwork is almost a character on its own.
