Summary
Summary
Don't Move! and it's companion book Hurry Up! are ideal board books for very young children. With only one word per page, simple, bold illustrations, and a surprise ending in both, these books can be used to expose toddlers to the names of animals. Those featured include common ones like lion or monkey, but there are also ones that may be new to children, like iguana or pink flamingo. In Don't Move! , the animals come together on the last page to have their photo taken. Similarly, In Hurry Up! , the animals gather one by one until they're all assembled to listen to a story. The name of each animal is presented in English, French, and Spanish, so whether parents/caregivers are native speakers or want to expose their children early to a foreign language, these two board books are just the thing.

School Library Journal Review
PreS-These visually appealing board books introduce toddlers to familiar and not-so-familiar animals in English, Spanish, and French. Don't Move! invites children to play a guessing game by giving them a glimpse of the creature on one page, followed by a full-body view on the next. The illustrations are stylized, and not all the animals will be that easily guessed. Each creature is represented in a solid color-mostly black-against a colored background to striking effect. At the conclusion, children and their adult readers discover that the animals are being posed for a photograph. "Smile! Souriez! ¡Sonrían!" In Hurry Up! the cast of animals are presented one by one in stark black-and-white, a bit of color provided by the pastel-hued text. What are the animals hurrying up for? A storytime, of course! In the last spread, readers will find the animals settled in front of a mouse holding, appropriately enough, a copy of The Jungle Book. Because the trilingual text in both books consists mostly of one word per page, it does not clutter the page. VERDICT A nice addition to the ever-expanding animal board book shelf.-Lucia Acosta, Children's Literature Specialist, NJ © Copyright 2017. Publisher's Weekly Review
Framed as a series of questions, this trilingual board book offers a guessing game as it asks readers whether they've seen various animals in English, French, and Spanish. After the initial question ("Have you seen/As-tu vu/¿Has visto a...?"), each page turn offers a glimpse of the animal to come beside corresponding articles ("the/le/el..."), followed by the big reveal. Chung creates high-contrast black-and-white silhouettes of each creature, set against boldly colored backdrops. Readers may lose track of which language is which, but curious children will be intrigued by the differences-sometimes subtle, sometimes dramatic-between the animals' names: "chameleon/caméléon/camaleón" versus "warthog/phacochère/jabalí," for example.
