Author Notes

Rachel Vail, born on July 25, 1966 in Manhattan. She is an author of children's and young adult books. She grew up in New Rochelle, New York, and is a graduate of Georgetown University. Her debut novel Wonder won an Editor's Choice award from Booklist in 1991, and in 1992 her second novel, Do-Over, won that award also. She has authored several series which include Friendship Ring, Mama Rex and T, If We Kiss, and Avery Sisters Trilogy.

Justin finds more to worry about in fourth grade when new kid Cash moves in and best friend forever Noah feels slighted. Balancing everyone's feelings, being true to himself, and getting himself out of "huge kerfuffles" once again makes Justin impossibly endearing--his mom, too (even when she's on his "Things I Hate" list). In his third outing, Justin faces the beginning of fourth grade with his usual trepidation. Despite his intentions to worry less, he is quickly overwhelmed by the challenges of fourth grade: the work is harder, there is more of it, and the teachers are more demanding. The biggest problem? Justin's developing friendship with new kid Cash has turned his old friend Noah against him. Series readers will be familiar with the ultrashort chapters, written as angsty entries in Justin's diary.
